One of the coolest KISS songs off of "DRESSED TO KILL". There are several
rhythm parts to the recording. Paul Stanley start it off with the intro
figure and is joined by Ace with a few partial chords and slides. Take note
that there are a total of three guitars in some parts of this song. If you
play this with 2 guitarists it will be easy to figure out what parts go
where, but if you are one guitarist just sit down and play the parts to come
up with an condensed version. Ace's so is pretty cool also, he uses a double
effect I think on this song, BUT I transcribed it so one guitar can play it.
So when you play this live, the solo should be a no brainer... Ace uses
a stock lick that covers both the Pentatonic Major and Minor of G, first in
the lower octave, then in the higher octave. It's fairly simple, but some of
the bends will need to be "felt" and not counted or played to stiff.
Otherwise the solo is not as dramatic. Ace also employs a bit of dead space
to make each lick stand out... try it, it's fun! Enjoy!
